Billing
Balance, top-ups, auto top-up and what's charged when.
Flint is prepaid: you add credit, and GPUs, storage and the Inference API draw from that balance. There are no contracts or monthly minimums.
Your balance
The sidebar shows your balance and roughly how long it lasts at your current spend. Billing has the details: burn rate, runway, this month's spend by category and every transaction.
Top up
Top up (sidebar, Billing, or ⌘K → Top up) takes you to Stripe's secure checkout. Pick an amount or enter your own within the limits shown, and your balance updates a few seconds after payment. If you cancel at checkout, nothing is charged.
Auto top-up
Turn on Auto top-up in Billing to add credit automatically when your balance falls below a threshold you choose, using the card from your last top-up. It needs a saved card, so make one normal top-up first. You can turn it off at any time.
What's charged when
| Resource | Charged |
|---|---|
| Running GPU | Its hourly price, billed by the minute |
| Paused GPU | A reduced hourly rate to keep it reserved (shown when you pause) |
| Terminated GPU | Nothing |
| Shared volume | US$0.10 per GB-month, while it exists |
| Inference API | Per token: input and output prices per model (details) |
Charges are taken from your balance every few minutes and appear in Billing → Transactions.
Running out of credit
Launching sets aside 30 minutes of credit, so you need at least that much in your balance; minutes you don't use stay in your balance. The Inference API returns 402 insufficient_quota when your balance is empty, so top up, or turn on auto top-up, to keep things running.
Budgets
Team admins can set spending limits and alerts in Billing.
Invoices and payment methods
Manage payment methods & invoices in Billing opens Stripe's customer portal, where you can download receipts and update your card.
Refunds
If a GPU fails to start, its launch charge is refunded to your balance automatically. For anything else, email [email protected].
